"Texas Celebrates Vatican Art" will be the theme of a dinner and reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Tesday at the Governor's Mansion in Austin.
Gov. Rick Perry plans to thank chief executive officers and representatives of several organizations who have helped plan or given support to the exhibit "Medieval Frescoes from the Vatican Museums Collection."
The collection will be displayed June 2 through Sept. 15 at the Museum of Texas Tech in Lubbock.
Companies and organizations that received invitations to today's reception, according to the Rev. Malcolm Arnold of the Vatican 2002 Committee, include:

Herschel Franklin Charitable Trusts.
Llano Estacado Winery.
Trini OC Mendenhall Foundation.
United Supermarkets Ltd.
Vatican Exhibit staff.
This art from the Vatican Museums, which will be exhibited only in Lubbock and then returned to Rome, includes 31 priceless frescoes from two ancient churches in Rome, and related artworks from museums in Houston and Mexico City.
